Cookie & Tracking Policy

Last updated: February 24, 2026

This policy explains how the Zentia website (www.zentiaapp.com) uses cookies and similar technologies.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use localStorage, a similar browser storage mechanism that stores data locally in your browser.

Cookies & Storage We Use

Strictly Necessary (No Consent Required)

These cookies and storage are essential for the website and application to function properly. They cannot be disabled.

Under GDPR, we process strictly necessary cookies based on two legal bases: Performance of Contract (to provide the services you requested) and Legitimate Interest (to ensure security and prevent fraud). Because we only use strictly necessary cookies, no consent banner is required.

Cookies

Supabase Authentication Cookies
  • Purpose: Manage your user session and authentication
  • Provider: Supabase (our backend service provider)
  • Type: HttpOnly, Secure cookies
  • Duration: Session and persistent (as configured by Supabase)
  • Data: Authentication tokens and session information
  • Why Essential: These cookies are required for you to log in and use the Zentia application. Without them, you cannot access your account or use the service.

localStorage

We use localStorage to store your preferences and application state locally in your browser:

User Preferences:
  • zentia-language — Stores your preferred language (English, Spanish, French, or German). Persists until you clear browser data or change your language preference.
  • theme — Stores your theme preference (light, dark, or system). Persists until you clear browser data or change your theme.
Application State:
  • selected-account-id — Stores the ID of the financial account you have selected. Used to maintain your selection across page refreshes.
  • passwordResetRequired — Security flag indicating if a password reset is required.
  • isOnResetPage — Security flag indicating if you are on the password reset page.
Financial Journal:
  • draftJournalEntry — Stores a draft journal entry before requiring authentication. Automatically cleared after use.
  • journalSortOrder — Stores your preferred sort order for journal entries.
  • usedPrompts — Stores prompts you have already used in the financial journal (to improve your experience).
Feature Feedback:
  • feature_feedback_share_entries — Stores your feedback voting state for features.
Chart and View Preferences:
  • tracker-{key} — Stores display preferences for tracker components.
  • monthly-trends-{key} — Stores display preferences for monthly trends charts.
  • earning-view-{key} — Stores display preferences for earning views.
  • spending-view-{key} — Stores display preferences for spending views.
  • chart-section-{key} — Stores display preferences for chart sections.

Why Essential: This localStorage data is necessary for the application to remember your preferences and provide a personalized experience. Without it, you would need to reconfigure your settings every time you visit the site.

  • Google Analytics or any other analytics services
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) or any advertising pixels
  • Marketing cookies or advertising cookies
